Today Dr. Reminga will discuss how our feet can have an overall affect on the rest of our body.... with special attention to the hips. You may wonder what your feet have to do with hip pain. It turns out that that hip pain is a common symptom that can be traced to a number of different foot conditions. Normally, you wouldn't think about your feet when your hip hurts. It's true most people don't. Think of it this way... Everything in the body is connected to some degree. Some of those connections can make huge changes in how the body functions and others don’t. There's a huge functional relationship between your feet and your hips.

The feet are the bodies foundation... for example, when your arches are altered... your foundation changes. Just like your house, if your foundation is off... the rest of the house will be off. This can cause greater stress on the rest of the house. Cracks start to appear over time in the foundation, walls, and ceiling. This is much the same with the human body.... the biomechanics in your foot and lower extremities are extremely sensitive and small changes can mean big compensation at the other end of the leg where the hip lies.

Dr. Reminga talks about foot conditions that can cause hip pain and if there is a genetic link. Is there a cause and effect between the feet and other areas of the body? Find out the answer to this question and many others in Dr. Reminga's discussion about hip pain.
