An advanced level of understanding skin conditions is required when found on the feet and hands. One of the most common skin conditions is fungal infections. These infections are referred to as tinea pedis, known as athletes foot, and onychomycosis, which is a fungal infection of the toenails or fingernails that invades the nail bed. Dr. Reminga goes on to describe these conditions and states that onychomycosis is the most common nail disease in adults. He also talks about warts on the hands and feet.
