In Today’s program Dr. Reminga, from Northern Foot Care Center, talks about what you can do to soothe and pamper our feet. The feet are often neglected and the last thing on the list to tend to. They’re put through the paces each day and at some point the feet need some attention and TLC. Dr. Reminga even has a homemade foot scrub treatment to share. Taking care of your feet has many benefits. Tired, achy feet are all too common after a long day of placing demands on them. It’s important to tend to your feet on a daily basis. There’s a cosmetic benefit and a therapeutic benefit to taking care of our feet. You will also be able to detect any foot problems that may arise because you are looking at your feet more often. This will help you to determine what’s normal and what may be problematic. As long as you don’t have poor circulation, any open wounds, or other obvious problems, a foot care protocol can make you and your feet feel their best.

Since I’m sure you’re curious, here is Dr. Reminga’s foot scrub treatment. Again, if you have any skin conditions, open sores, or wounds... this foot scrub isn’t advised. So, you’ll need...

  1. 2 cups of coarse Epsom Salt
  2. ½ cup of warmed coconut oil so it liquefies
  3. 10-15 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil

Mix them all together and seal in a glass jar. This will last for 6 months, always test a small spot on your skin first, and scrub with it once a week in a foot bath, not in the shower to prevent slipping. The peppermint and coconut oil both have antiseptic and antibacterial properties as well as a refreshing, soothing effect. Sounds good, right? Listen to today’s program to find out more tips from Dr. Reminga about how to Soothe Your Soles.
