Summer is the perfect season to take to the hiking trails. In today’s program, Dr. Reminga talks about hiking and how it can affect your feet. If you enjoy the great outdoors and hiking is your passion or you just enjoy a weekend adventure every so often… listen to the expert information that Dr. Remnga offers on this subject. Foot pain of various types can put an end to outdoor activities such as hiking. The good new is... there is a way to be proactive in preventing foot problems from ending an enjoyable day outdoors.

Blisters are common among hikers. It's important to be aware of how your feet feel while hiking. Especially take note if you feel any "hot spots". A “hot spot” is the precursor to a blister, and if treated promptly, you can keep it that way by taking care of them before they form blisters. Dr. Reminga talks about the causes of blisters and how to avoid them in the first place. He also discusses the proper footwear for hiking. What hiking shoes or hiking boots should you wear? Additional foot problems that Dr. Reminga mentions are overuse injuries, shin splints, calf strains, black toenail, plantar fasciitis, bursitis, and achilles tendonitis. Take a listen to Dr. Reminga and TAKE A HIKE!
