In today’s program, Dr. Reminga from Northern Foot Care Center, talks about the differences and similarities between men’s and women’s feet. Does gender matter when it comes to our feet? It may surprise you to know that women’s feet are not just smaller versions of men’s feet. There are unique differences between the two foot structures. Dr. Reming describes the differences and knowing how men’s and women’s feet are different could be helpful. Interestingly, a U. S. Army study that examined the lower leg and foot points out that there are biologic differences between the sexes when looking at foot structure. The study found significant differences in arch shape, the big toe, arch length, and toe bones. These are just a few of the differences that the study revealed.

Dr. Reminga goes into further detail about the interesting differences between men’s and women’s feet and also relates these differences to shoe selection. Dr. Reminga states, “A large percentage of women wear shoes that are too small for their feet”. Why is this a common occurrence? Dr. Reminga answers this question along with other revealing information such as foot odor. The answer to this topic, that is linked to scientific data, may surprise you. Listen to another interesting program as Dr. Reminga explains the differences between men’s and women’s feet… The Battle of The Sexes.
