In today’s program Dr. Reminga, from Northern Foot Care Center, talks about ingrown toenails and debunks some common misconceptions. Ingrown toenails is a condition that Dr. Reminga frequently treats in his office. Statistics reveal that approximately 20% of the US adult population or, over 40 million people, have experienced ingrown toenails. they occur in both men, women, children, and even babies. An ingrown toenail happens when the corner or side of a toenail grows into the soft flesh of the toe and… it mostly occurs on the big toe. This causes pain, redness, swelling, and sometimes infection. Chances are… you or someone you know has had an ingrown toenail at some point. Most people’s first reaction when they hear the words “ingrown toenail” is a grimace because of the pain and discomfort associated with it. The truth is… this nail condition affects more people than you think. Ingrown toenails are very common among athletes, as well as the average person.

In today’s show, instead of stating what’s true about ingrown toenails, Dr. Reminga talks about some of the falsehoods concerning this condition. The falsehoods he discusses are….

  2. Falsehood #2: ANTIBIOTICS CAN FIX AN INGROWN TOENAIL.
